Removal of Petroleum Hydrocarbons from Brackish Water by Natural and Modified Sorbents

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering, 2022
Crude oil and petroleum products made from it are increasingly being extracted and consumed worldwide as an important energy source. During necessary transportation, e.g., by tanker, an oil spill might occur, which leads to water pollution by oil. One of

Computer modelling of density dynamics of single‐species laboratory insects’ population

open access: yesMathematical Modelling and Analysis, 2004
The large number of recently created mathematical models of single‐species insects’ population density dynamics has confirmed the continuing interest of scientists to this problem.

Improving of Pyrolysis Oil from Macroalgae Cladophora glomerata with HDPE Pyrolysis Oil

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering, 2022
The slow pyrolysis of macroalgae at moderate temperatures in the reactor used resulted in an oil with a slightly better calorific value than that of the literature, but the other properties were not convincing.

Sorption and Removal of Petroleum Hydrocarbons from Brackish Water by Hydrophobic Sorbents Immobilized with Fungi

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering, 2023
This study investigates the effects of immobilizing fungi on the straw’s performance as an oil sorbent. The buoyancy of the straw with fungi was found to be unaffected by the immobilization process.

Corticocerebellar Effective Connectivity During Adapting to vs. Ignoring Delayed Visual Movement Feedback

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Neuroscience, Volume 63, Issue 6, March 2026.
We applied dynamic causal modeling to fMRI data acquired during a virtual reality based visuomotor task. Visuomotor adaptation, compared with no‐adaptation, was associated with an increased excitatory influence of the right cerebellum on bilateral V5 and the IPS.

Cerebellar Single‐Pulse TMS Differentially Affects Early and Late Error Processing in Reinforcement Learning

open access: yesPsychophysiology, Volume 62, Issue 11, November 2025.
ABSTRACT There is increasing evidence that the cerebellum contributes to feedback processing in reinforcement learning. As yet, it has not been investigated whether the cerebellum also contributes to error processing in reinforcement learning. Studies have shown, however, that the cerebellum is involved in the processing of response errors in non ...

Desulfurizing of Pyrolysis Oil of Used Tires Using a 3D-Printed Vortex Diode and Modeling of Process

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering, 2021
The use of pyrolysis oil can be seen as an alternative fuel for maritime transport. However, pyrolysis oil from tires must be desulfurized for this. Recently, this can be done by hydrodynamic cavitation.
