This paper introduces the MAPLET framework that was developed to map and link teaching aims, learning processes, learner expertise and technologies. An experimental study with 65 participants is reported to test the effectiveness of the framework as a guide to the design of lessons embedded within larger units of study.

The enhancement of existing DES Maplet interface
This study pertains to the process of Data Encryption Standard, DES. DES consists of encryption and decryption processes linked with mathematical elements such as algebra and number theory. Preliminary, studies revealed that most of mathematics students face a problem in understanding the complicated process of DES. In modern learning methods, learning

Maplet for Linear Fredholm Integral Equations of Second kind (FIESK)
The main purpose of this paper is to propose a Maplet application of the solution methods, Neumann, Eigen function, Adomian Decomposition Method (ADM), and Simple Method for Linear Fredholm Integral Equations of Second kind. Furthermore, to make 2-D, 3-D graphing of solutions and how they can be used as effective educational tools for both students and

SplinterDB and Maplets: Improving the Tradeoffs in Key-Value Store Compaction Policy
Proceedings of the ACM on Management of Data, 2023A critical aspect of modern key-value stores is the interaction between compaction policy and filters. Aggressive compaction reduces the on-disk footprint of a key-value store and can improve query performance, but can reduce insertion throughput because it is I/O and CPU expensive.

Maplets for correspondence-based object recognition
Neural Networks, 2004We present a correspondence-based system for visual object recognition with invariance to position, orientation, scale and deformation. The system is intermediate between high- and low-dimensional representations of correspondences. The essence of the approach is based on higher-order links, called here maplets, which are specific to narrow ranges of ...
