The seismic properties of Lake Maracaibo
Geophysics, 1962Abstract The seismic properties of Lake Maracaibo were investigated in an extensive experimental program. The controlling factor was found to be extremely low mud velocities produced by free gas in the bottom mud. The most important seismic phenomenon was singing, and its characteristics were investigated in detail.

[Renal osteodystrophy in Maracaibo].
Investigacion clinica, 1993In the present work we report the bone histologies obtained from the iliac crest of 49 patients on chronic hemodialysis in Maracaibo. All of them were dialyzed thrice weekly with untreated tap water containing high aluminum (Al) levels. Their mean blood Al levels were found to be higher than 100 micrograms/L.
