Produção de silagem de capim-marandu (Brachiaria brizantha Stapf cv. Marandu) com e sem emurchecimento Production of marandu grass (Brachiaria brizantha Stapf cv. Marandu) Silage with and without wilting [PDF]
Este experimento foi conduzido com o objetivo de avaliar algumas características da silagem de capim-marandu (Brachiaria brizantha Stapf cv. Marandu) submetida a diferentes tempos de emurchecimento.

Intensive Production and Management of Marandu Palisadegrass (Urochloa brizantha ‘Marandu’) Accelerates Leaf Turnover but Does Not Change Herbage Mass [PDF]
Pasture intensification through higher stocking rates, nitrogen fertilization and intensified grazing management in beef cattle production optimizes pasture use by increasing the forage harvested. We aimed to assess its effects on the morphogenesis and canopy structure of Urochloa brizantha ‘Marandu’ (marandu palisadegrass) pastures.

Climate risk and seasonal forage production of Marandu palisadegrass in Brazil [PDF]
This study aimed to characterize Brachiaria brizantha cv. Marandu seasonal production (seasonality) and its variation (climate risk) yearlong throughout Brazil. Data from weather stations in Brazil (1963-2009), were associated with an empirical herbage accumulation rate (HAR; kg DM ha-1 day-1) model which considers growing degree-days adjusted by a ...

Effects of nitrogen fertilization on protein and carbohydrate fractions of Marandu palisadegrass [PDF]
AbstractThe effects of nitrogen (N) fertilization levels on protein and carbohydrate fractions in Marandu palisadegrass pasture [Urochloa brizantha (Hochst. ex A. Rich.) R.D. Webster] were investigated in a pasture over five years. The experimental design was completely randomized with four levels of N (0, 90, 180, and 270 kg N ha-1, as urea) for five ...

Supplementation of lamb ewes with different protein sources in deferred marandu palisadegrass (Brachiaria brizantha cv. marandu) pasture [PDF]
ABSTRACT The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of different protein sources on the performance of lamb ewes and their offspring supplemented in deferred pasture. The treatments were the different protein sources: soybean meal, cotton cake, babassu cake and coconut cake. The ewes were weighed and evaluated for their body condition score

Glyphosate in the production and forage quality of marandu grass
The drift of the herbicide glyphosate, used for desiccating crops or controlling weeds, can result in growth-promoting or non-target plant development effects. Thus, it is possible to use the compound to increase the biomass of forage through the hormone effect. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of sublethal doses of glyphosate on

Effect of glyphosate drift on marandu grass
Glyphosate drift in plants that are not resistant to the herbicide molecule can result in stimulation to certain biological features, characterizing the phenomenon of hormesis. On this basis, productive and chemical traits were evaluated in marandu grass, in a simulation of the drift effect, using sublethal doses of the herbicide glyphosate.
