A Generic Approach to Creating a National Soil Security Strategy

open access: yesSustainable Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Soil is a living and non‐renewable resource that underpins our very existence. It produces our food, filters our water, stores vast amounts of carbon, cycles essential nutrients, and sustains the rich tapestry of biodiversity on which our planet depends.

Interpreting Sustainability: A Cross‐Cultural Exploration Between New Zealand (Western & Indigenous) and Chinese (Urban) Consumers

open access: yesSustainable Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Sustainability is a globally promoted concept, yet its meaning is often shaped by cultural context. Existing research has largely been informed by Western‐centric understandings of sustainability, leaving limited insight into how sustainability is interpreted across diverse cultural settings.

Hatching and fledging? A meta‐analysis of the performance effects of business incubators

open access: yesStrategic Entrepreneurship Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Research Summary Business incubators are among the most widely implemented instruments to foster entrepreneurship. Yet empirical evidence on their effectiveness remains fragmented and often contradictory. Limited research systematically compares how different types of incubators influence multiple venture performance outcomes, including ...

Molar incisor hypomineralisation: current knowledge and practice

open access: yesInternational Dental Journal, EarlyView., 2020
Background Molar incisor hypomineralisation (MIH) is a common developmental dental condition that presents in childhood. Areas of poorly formed enamel affect one or more first permanent molars and can cause opacities on the anterior teeth. MIH presents a variety of challenges for the dental team as well as functional and social impacts for affected ...

Post‐earthquake field assessment and damage correlation of elevated reinforced concrete water tanks in Kahramanmaras/Elbistan, Türkiye

open access: yesStructural Concrete, EarlyView.
Abstract This study evaluates the seismic performance of elevated reinforced concrete (RC) water tanks in the Elbistan region following the February 6, 2023 Kahramanmaras–Elbistan earthquakes. Field investigations, visual damage surveys, non‐destructive testing (ultrasonic pulse velocity—UPV), concrete compressive strength measurements, peak ground ...

The Building That Teaches: Exploring Augmented Reality Affordances in Academic Incubators

open access: yesJournal of Interior Design, EarlyView., 2022
ABSTRACT Efforts to enhance the experience of interior environments have led to experimentation with augmented reality (AR) technology to encourage users to participate in the built space using their mobile devices. To investigate the role of AR technologies in interior design experiences, we highlight the interdisciplinary design of a mobile AR ...

Temporal and seasonal trends of bovine tuberculosis in the Irish cattle population (2008–2024)

open access: yesVeterinary Record, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Bovine tuberculosis (bTB) has substantial impacts on the Irish cattle industry. Between 2016 and 2024, its burden increased in Irish cattle. As an initial step towards understanding drivers of this increase, we explore long‐term trends in measures of bTB burden and cattle demographics in Ireland. Methods Using data from 2008 to 2024,

immunoHuMiX: A personalizable gut‐on‐chip model for unraveling human microbiome–immune interactions

open access: yesVIEW, EarlyView.
The study introduces a personalized gut model that brings together human immune cells and intestinal cells to better mimic how the body interacts with microbes. This system successfully maintained both human cells and a 17‐strain probiotic community, showing consistent immune responses across different donors.

Coupled intra‐ and inter‐tunnel short‐range order in hollandites: a case study of mannardite Ba[(Ti4+)6(V3+)2]O16

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section B, EarlyView.
Single‐crystal X‐ray diffuse scattering combined with Monte Carlo simulations and 3D‐ΔPDF analysis reveals complex short‐range order in mannardite, involving coupled Ba–Ba interactions within and between tunnels and framework relaxation.Mannardite, Ba[(Ti4+)6(V3+)2]O16, a mineral of the hollandite supergroup, is characterized by a tunnel structure ...

Contrasting properties of predation and scavenging networks governed by megaherbivores in an African savannah

open access: yesJournal of Animal Ecology, EarlyView.
For the first time, predation and scavenging networks are directly compared within a single ecosystem. Using an 8‐year dataset of African mammals, including megaherbivores, this study reveals distinct structural rules and body mass constraints, providing a scalable framework for studying consumer–resource dynamics and ecosystem function.
