INTERNATIONAL ACCESS TO BIBLIOGRAPHIC DATA: MARC AND MARC‐RELATED ACTIVITIES [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Documentation, 1984
Formats for the exchange of bibliographic data use the ISO 2709 record structure which started out as the structure for the Library of Congress MARC format. The UNISIST Reference Manual was an early international exchange format developed by ICSU‐AB and Unesco and included cataloguing rules suitable for use by A & I Services. The national libraries

On Hierarchical Composite Endpoints in Pediatric Cancer Supportive Care: Illustrative Examples From Two Multi‐Center Phase‐III Randomized Clinical Trials

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Pediatric supportive care clinical trials often involve multiple clinically important outcomes, complicating trial interpretation. Hierarchical composite endpoints (HCEs) provide a framework to integrate key outcomes according to clinical importance.

Implicit preference for human trustworthy faces in macaque monkeys

open access: yesNature Communications, 2018
Humans infer the trustworthiness of others based on subtle facial features such as the facial width-to-height ratio, but it is not known whether other primates are sensitive to these cues.

Design and analysis strategies for robust microbiome ageing research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The gut microbiome changes with age and associates with age‐related morbidity and mortality, establishing it as a potential biomarker and intervention target for ageing. Realising this potential requires methodological rigour, yet distinguishing biological signals from methodological artefacts remains challenging across cohorts. This review provides an

Nutrient/TOR signaling controls adipose mitochondrial transcription factor A (TFAM) to regulate organismal growth in Drosophila

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Animals must match their growth rate to available nutrients. We show that in Drosophila larvae, the nutrient‐sensing TOR kinase controls growth by regulating levels of TFAM, a key regulator of mitochondrial function, in the adipose tissue. When nutrients are abundant, high TOR activity suppresses TFAM, lowering mitochondrial bioenergetic activity and ...

A Review of DC-DC Resonant Converter Topologies and Control Techniques for Electric Vehicle Applications

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of Power Electronics, 2023
Resonant converters are attractive for DC-DC converter applications of electric vehicles (EVs) due to their wide range of soft switching and less output filter requirements compared to dual active bridge (DAB) converters.

Epigenetic reprogramming of lineage switching in cancer

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cancer cells rarely commit to a single identity. Epigenetic mechanisms and tumor microenvironment cues push epithelial cells toward flexible, hybrid states that can shift into mesenchymal, neuroendocrine, or stem‐like fates, driving metastasis, drug resistance, and tumor heterogeneity. Targeting the epigenetic regulators behind these transitions, using

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

Chimpanzees produce diverse vocal sequences with ordered and recombinatorial properties

open access: yesCommunications Biology, 2022
An analysis of the structural complexity of vocal sequences in chimpanzees in the Taï National Park reveal that single vocal units are combined into numerous structured sequences with adjacency dependencies between units.
