Passive Directional Water Transport on Superhydrophobic Gradient Textures Fabricated by Direct Laser Interference Patterning

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Microstructures fabricated by two‐beam DLIP combining spatial‐period and roughness gradients are fabricated to enhance directional transport of water droplets. The coupled gradients increase transport distance by 160% and strongly suppress motion against the gradient, demonstrating an effective strategy for controlled droplet manipulation.

Unveiling the Hidden Geometry of OECTs: Contact‐Semiconductor Overlap Driven Errors in Volumetric Capacitance

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This work examines how contact–semiconductor overlap influences volumetric capacitance extraction in organic electrochemical transistors as device dimensions shrink. It shows that neglecting overlap leads to systematic, geometry‐driven errors in capacitance values.

Tropomyosin 1 Promotes Platelet Adhesion and Clot Contraction Separate from Its Roles in Developmental Hematopoiesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Genome‐wide association studies (GWAS) link the Tropomyosin 1 (Tpm1) locus to quantitative blood trait variation, but related mechanisms are unclear. Tpm1 encodes an actin‐binding protein that regulates actin filament diversity, cell adhesion, signaling, and actomyosin contractility.

Ranking Food Waste Upcycling Strategies Using an Intuitionistic Fuzzy Multi-Criteria Decision-Making Approach [PDF]

open access: yesMuṭāli̒āt-i Mudīriyyat-i Ṣan̒atī
Food loss and waste represent a major global challenge threatening food security and exacerbating climate change. Upcycling food waste into value-added products is increasingly recognized as an effective pathway toward a circular economy.

Mr BMT Achieves Systemic Macrophage Replacement With Preservation of Tissue Homeostasis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Microglia replacement by bone marrow transplantation (Mr BMT) enables systemic replacement of tissue‐resident macrophages. Despite persistent macrophage and tissue remodeling across multiple organs, core biological functions and innate immune responses remain preserved, supporting long‐term maintenance of organismal homeostasis and the therapeutic ...

Bifidobacterium Pseudolongum‐Derived Inosine Mitigates Polystyrene Nanoplastics‐Induced Hepatic Injury by Inhibiting the Polarization of M1 Macrophages

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Probiotic B.p colonization elevated gut‐derived inosine level in the liver, while elevated inosine activated A2AR and subsequently blocked NPs‐induced polarization of M1 macrophages by repressing the miR155/SOCS1/NF‐κB pathway. This reduced the release of inflammatory cytokines and thereby, mitigated NPs‐induced hepatic injury.

SAN MARCO IN LE CORBUSIER, SAN MARCO IN BOGOTA

open access: yesJournal of Architecture and Urbanism, 2016
There are many ties between the monumental compound of San Marco in Venice and Le Corbusier. This article follows, studies and organizes these ties to link them to how he resolves the urban project for the Administrative Centre for Bogotá. In it, Le Corbusier leaves aside the isolated buildings that characterize his way of solving urban space, to use ...
