Specific adaptation and breeding for marginal conditions
Euphytica, 1994Breeding has been very successful in generating cultivars that in favorable environments, and together with large use of fertilizer and chemical control of weeds, pest and diseases, have increased agricultural production several fold. Today the environmental impact of high input agriculture in more favorable environments causes growing concern.

Marginal adaptation of nine commercial intermediate resins
Dental Materials, 1991The bonding efficacy of nine commercially available intermediate resins was examined by measuring the maximum contraction gap of a light-activated composite in a cylindrical cavity of human dentin. With only one exception, the marginal adaptation of the composite improved significantly when the intermediate resins were combined with an experimental ...

Adaptation, variation and selection in marginal areas
Euphytica, 1994The word adaptation and its derivatives are reviewed as well as the characteristics of environmental marginality. Plant traits are discussed in the light of their adaptive significance, specially pointing at their phenotypic expression under stress.

MARGINAL ADAPTABILITY AND FIT OF CERAMIC MILLED INLAYS
The Journal of the American Dental Association, 1995The authors investigated the marginal adaptation and internal fit of ceramic inlay made by a ceramic milling system. The study's results indicated that the mean marginal and internal gap size of the ceramic inlay restorations was less than 100 microns, making the fit clinically acceptable.

Gain Margins of Adaptive Control Systems
IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 2010This paper presents a systematic study of the gain margins (GM) of adaptive control systems: the specification of the parameter range of a control gain matrix in a designed adaptive control system for maintaining the desired closed-loop signal boundedness and asymptotic tracking performance.

PURPOSE The purpose of this study was to compare the marginal adaptation of two flowable bulk fill resin-based composites (FB-RBCs), two restorative bulk fill resin-based composites (RB-RBCs), and one regular incremental-fill RBC in MOD cavities in vitro.

Adaptive jitter margin PID controller
2008 IEEE International Conference on Automation Science and Engineering, 2008This paper develops an adaptive controller for (wireless) networked control systems by combining delay estimation and a jitter margin based PID controller tuning. A control system with wireless measurement is assumed, where the network induces delay jitter.
