Margin fit of metal crowns and bridge retainers
Acta Odontologica Scandinavica, 1985The margin fit of metal crowns and bridge retainers was examined radiographically in individuals who were registered to receive treatment at the School of Dentistry, University of Bergen. One sample consisted of 184 individuals registered in 1967-68 and another one of 232 individuals registered in 1982-83.

Surface smoothness and marginal fit with phosphate-bonded investments
The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 1979Two phosphate-bonded investments and one calcium sulfate investment were evaluated for the surface smoothness and marginal fit they impart to gold castings. A modified technique was also evaluated for each phosphate-bonded investment, where the silica sol was not diluted and the spatulation time was reduced.

Evaluation of marginal and internal fit of ceramic crown copings
Dental Materials, 2013(1) To measure the marginal and internal adaptation of different prosthetic crowns infrastructures (IS); (2) to analyze two types of methodologies (replica and weight technique) used to evaluate the adaptation of indirect restorations.Ceramic IS were fabricated using CAD/CAM technology and slip-casting technique, and metal IS were produced by casting ...

Comparison of the marginal fit of various ceramic crown systems
The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 1989This study evaluated the marginal fit of four ceramic crown systems, (1) metal ceramic crowns with a metal margin, (2) metal ceramic crowns with a porcelain facial margin, (3) Cerestore crowns, and (4) Dicor crowns. Measurements of the marginal adaptation were recorded from the facial and lingual margins by using a video-enhanced microscope with ...

The Effect of Sintering Time on the Marginal Fit of Zirconia Copings
Journal of Prosthodontics, 2018AbstractPurposeThis study analyzed the effect of different sintering times on the marginal adaptation of zirconia ceramic copings.Materials and MethodsThirty copings of pre‐sintered 3Y‐TZP blanks were milled and subsequently sintered in a special furnace for three different durations (n = 10 per group). The sintering time was 1 hour, 15 minutes for IPS

Functional marginality and response-surface fitting
Journal of Applied Statistics, 2000Well-formed polynomials contain the marginal terms of all terms; for example, they contain both x 1 and x 2 if x 1 x 2 is present. Such models have a goodness of fit that is invariant to linear transformations of the x variables. Recently, selection procedures have been proposed which may not give well-formed polynomials.

The clinical significance of marginal fit.
Northwest dentistry, 2012Clinical evaluation of restoration acceptability includes marginal adaptation, restoration and preservation of anatomic form, color match, cavosurface discoloration, and presence of marginal caries. This paper will review what is known about marginal fit of all materials relative to their acceptable fit.

[Studies on marginal fit of Dicor crowns].
Deutsche zahnarztliche Zeitschrift, 1990Dicor crowns may present marginal defects, among other reasons because they require preparation of a circular ledge with rounded internal line angles. In studying this problem, 21 teeth that could no longer be saved were prepared in vivo and provided with Dicor crowns in our hospital.
