Mechanisms of change for two brief alcohol interventions: Testing theoretical mediators for counter attitudinal advocacy and personalized feedback intervention effects

This study identified distinct mechanisms of change for two brief alcohol interventions. Personalized Normative Feedback reduced drinking and consequences by lowering perceived norms, whereas Counter Attitudinal Advocacy reduced both by decreasing dissonance.

Working memory in context: The role of alcohol distractors in working memory performance in low to heavy alcohol drinkers

Associations Between Vitamin D Status and Clinical Presentation Among French Inpatients With Substance Use Disorders

Nine out of ten inpatients treated for various types of substance use disorders had a Vitamin D deficiency. Vitamin D deficiency was associated with lower calcium plasma levels, higher BMI and craving levels for both substance and food. Vitamin D supplementation should be part of the treatment regimen of people with substance use disorders.
