Antibacterial activity of marine-derived fungi
Mycopathologia, 1998A total of 227 marine isolates of ubiquitous fungi were cultivated on different media and the secondary metabolite content of the extracts (ethyl acetate/chloroform/methanol 3:2:1) characterized by HPLC. The fungi were secured from animals, plants and sediments of Venezuelan waters (0-10 m) including mangroves and lagoonal areas.

Stereoselective reduction of flavanones by marine-derived fungi
Molecular Catalysis, 2021Abstract Biotransformation is an alternative with great potential to modify the structures of natural and synthetic flavonoids. Therefore, the bioreduction of synthetic halogenated flavanones employing marine-derived fungi was described, aiming the synthesis of flavan-4-ols 3a-g with high enantiomeric excesses (ee) of both cis- and trans ...

Secondary Metabolites from Marine-Derived Fungi from China
2020Marine-derived fungi play an important role in the search for structurally unique secondary metabolites, some of which show promising pharmacological activities that make them useful leads for drug discovery. Marine natural product research in China in general has made enormous progress in the last two decades as described in this chapter on fungal ...

Marine-Derived Fungi: Prospective Candidates for Bioremediation
2017With increased industrialization and urbanization, there has been an increased level of pollutants in the environment. It is imperative to reduce concentration of toxic compounds in the effluent to meet ever-increasing legislative standards. While in most of the cases physicochemical treatments of wastes suffer from one or the other limitation ...

New Bioactive Metabolites from the Marine-derived Fungi Aspergillus
Mini-Reviews in Medicinal Chemistry, 2018Recently, the marine-derived Aspergillus present as producers of a large number of structurally novel secondary metabolites. Some of these metabolites have shown antitumor, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and enzymatic activities, and may be promising resources for new therapeutic drugs.

The Marine-Derived Filamentous Fungi in Biotechnology
2018For a long time considered as essentially terrestrial organisms, filamentous fungi have recently disclosed to be widespread in marine habitats. Such a pervasiveness not only concerns obligate marine species but also a multitude of taxa known from disparate terrestrial substrates whose occurrence at sea, at first considered incidental, is now regarded ...
