Facilitating Hydrogen Evolution Reaction Activity in Alkaline Water Electrolysis via Formation of Ni‐Co2P Heterojunction

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
Ni‐Co2P synthesized via a co‐sputtering method exhibits enhanced hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) activity. The formation of a heterojunction between Ni and Co2P plays a crucial role in this enhancement. At the Ni‐Co2P junction, water dissociation is significantly promoted, while the Ni sites facilitate efficient hydrogen evolution.

Sprayable Polyolefin Sorbents Enabled by Bio‐Solvents for Large‐Scale Oil and Chemical Spill Recovery

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
A sprayable POE‐based sorbent formulated with a green solvent blend of α‐pinene, D‐limonene, and p‐cymene enables rapid in situ film formation via solvent evaporation, allowing efficient pollutant capture. The system exhibits high oil uptake (37.3 g g−1) and effectively removes up to 60 mL of VLSFO under simulated marine spill conditions.

Nested Institutions and Overlapping Mandates: A Policy Analysis of Mangrove Governance in Ghana, Tanzania Mainland, and Zanzibar

open access: yesEnvironmental Policy and Governance, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Mangroves are critical resources in sustaining coastal communities by providing essential ecosystem goods and services. Occurring within the interface of land and sea, they serve as critical ecological zones shaped by dynamic interactions between terrestrial and marine systems.

Addressing Barriers to Fair Community Participation in Mangrove Carbon Credit Projects: Insights From Thailand

open access: yesEnvironmental Policy and Governance, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Thailand has announced ambitious plans to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, including a programme that allows private companies to earn carbon credits from protecting and restoring mangroves. In 2023, the Department of Marine and Coastal Resources (DMCR) began enrolling local communities and private firms in this scheme.

The Power to Care for Oneself: Power Increases Self‐Compassion

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Social Psychology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Sense of power and self‐compassion both impact important intrapsychic and interpersonal outcomes. However, how powerholders treat themselves when experiencing failure or personal setbacks is unclear. We propose that powerholders are more apt than their lower‐power counterparts to exhibit self‐compassion when faced with difficulties. Across six
