Evaluating air emission inventories and indicators from cruise vessels at ports [PDF]
This paper provides an estimation of air emissions (CO2, NOX, SOX and PM) released by cruise vessels at the port level. The methodology is based on the Bfull bottom-up^ approach and starts by evaluating the fuel consumed by each vessel on the basis of

Phototrophs evolved light‐harvesting systems adapted for efficient photon capture in habitats enriched in far‐red radiation. A subset of eukaryotic pigment‐binding proteins can absorb far‐red photons via low‐energy chlorophyll states known as red forms.

A comparative study on mean value modelling of two-stroke marine diesel engine [PDF]
In the present paper, two mean value modelling approaches of varying complexity, capable of simulating two-stroke marine Diesel engines, are presented. Both approaches were implemented in the computational environment of MATLAB Simulink®. Simulation runs

Protein O‐glycosylation in the Bacteroidota phylum
Species of the Bacteroidota phylum exhibit a unique O‐glycosylation system. It modifies noncytoplasmic proteins on a specific amino acid motif with a shared glycan core but a species‐specific outer glycan. A locus of multiple glycosyltransferases responsible for the synthesis of the outer glycan has been identified.

Marine Diesel Engine Exhaust Emissions Measured in Ship’s Dynamic Operating Conditions
The paper presents the results of research on measuring the emissions from marine diesel engines in dynamic states. The problem is as follows: How to measure emissions of the composition of exhaust gases on board a ship, without direct measurement of ...
