The effect of ocean alkalinity enhancement on pelagic bacterial communities: focus points derived from a mesocosm experiment

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiomes
Anthropogenic climate change caused by CO2 emissions forces humanity to reduce the usage of fossil fuels. Along with the task of emission reduction, societies face the task of removing excess CO2 from the atmosphere by using negative emission ...

War and Peace: Ogawa Takemitsu's Theological Engagement with State and Religion

open access: yesJournal of Religious History, EarlyView.
The Manchurian Incident of 1931 marked a pivotal moment in the rise of Japanese fascism. During the period from this incident until the Pacific War's defeat, dissent from the state's control was not tolerated, leading to coercive measures in religious communities. The Christian community, rather than devising theological reasoning to resist the state's

Genetic differentiation and adaptive evolution of buff‐tailed bumblebees in Asia

open access: yesInsect Science, EarlyView.
This study investigates the genetic differentiation and local adaptation of the buff‐tailed bumblebee (Bombus terrestris) across its European and Asian populations. Using whole‐genome resequencing, we identified distinct genetic differences between populations, with Asian B. terrestris representing a unique genetic resource.

Taxonomic and functional diversity of noctuoid moths in a Mediterranean coastal area: implications for dune conservation in a long‐term ecological research eLTER site

open access: yesInsect Science, EarlyView.
This study investigates the taxonomic and functional diversity of noctuoid moths in a protected coastal dune system in Central Italy, revealing strong ecological associations between moth assemblages and dune zonation. Differences in species composition and trait attributes, along with the presence of habitat‐exclusive species, highlight the role of ...

Allergic Rhinitis and Its Impact on Asthma (ARIA)‐EAACI Guidelines—2024–2025 Revision: Part I—Guidelines on Intranasal Treatments

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Allergic rhinitis (AR) impacts quality of life, work and school productivity. Over the last years, an important body of evidence resulting from mHealth data has led to a better understanding of AR. Such advances have motivated an EAACI‐endorsed update of the Allergic Rhinitis and its Impact on Asthma (ARIA) guidelines (ARIA 2024 ...

Genetic Features of the Scuticociliate Pathogen Philaster sp. Isolate FWC2 That Causes Sea Urchin Mass Mortality. [PDF]

open access: yesJ Eukaryot Microbiol
ABSTRACT A scuticociliate most closely related to Philaster apodigitiformis caused mass mortalities of diadematoid sea urchins and was cultured as Philaster sp. isolate FWC2. We sequenced the metagenomic content of this isolate, which was predicted to represent ≤ 56% of the complete genome.
