Microbiological ecology of marinated meat products
Meat Science, 2005Marinated meat products are consumed increasingly. In addition to taste, marinating has been considered to increase product safety and shelf life. In Finland, marinades are complex, spiced sauces. They are acidic water-oil emulsions typically containing salt, sugar, sorbate and/or benzoate.

Microbiology and the Marine Limestones
Geological Society of America Bulletin, 1932The Problem to date There is no question but that limestone may be formed in a number of ways, nor are we yet in a position to determine the relative importance of numerous agents in the formation of the bulk of our pure and impure fine-grained, nonfossiliferous limestones from the pre-Cambrian to the Tertiary.

Marine Microbiology: Deep Sea Adaptations
2002Technological advancements in the recovery and cultivation of deep-sea microorganisms have resulted in the isolation of novel groups of bacteria which are adapted to high pressure. From these collections a number of new species have been identified, including members of the genera Shewanella, Moritella, Photobacterium and Colwellia Some of these ...
