The Synergism of β‐Cyclodextrin and Fe3+ Enabled Anti‐Swelling Ion‐Conductive Hydrogels for Multimodal Underwater Sensing Aided by Machine Learning Algorithms

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An anti‐swelling ion‐conductive hydrogel is developed via β‐cyclodextrin and Fe3+ synergism, enabling reliable underwater motion sensing and Morse code communication. Integrated with machine learning, the system achieves 98.6% accuracy in real‐time underwater handwriting recognition for rapid information transmission.

High‐Performance Recycling Biobased Photopolymers for 3D Printing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
By using biobased phenols like eugenol, novel biobased photopolymers containing dissociative phenol‐carbamate bonds are designed for 3D printing. Meanwhile, a “mixed‐monomer assisted recycling” strategy is proposed to recycle the materials. The resulting materials not only achieve high‐performance and excellent chemical recyclability simultaneously ...

Analysis of vibration characteristics of deep-sea mining risers under emergency disconnection state

open access: yesApplied Ocean Research
The extreme marine environment poses a significant threat to deep-sea mining operations. For the sake of security, the jack-up diving platform and riser system are still deployed in the sea, and the emergency evacuation of personnel and mining vessels is

Bioinspired Morphology‐Decoupled Soft Gripper with Enhanced Bidirectional Grasping Capability

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Inspired by biological predation, a novel gripper decouples cross‐modal grasping via dual morphological configurations. Synergistically integrating hybrid rigid and soft coupled fingers with a metamaterial palm, the system performs active compliant grasping for static objects and passive cage capture for dynamic targets.

A Method of Top Tension Optimization of Drilling Riser-conductor System

open access: yesShiyou jixie, 2015
With the exploration of deep water towards ultradeep water, the harsh marine environment could lead to riser-conductor stability issues like buckling and alternating stress failure. The effective axial stress equation of the whole riser-conductor system ...

A Large‐Area Broadband Multimodal Dual‐Resonant Haptic Device for Bidirectional Telerobotic and Augmented Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We present a large‐area bidirectional human–machine interface integrating electrostatic multimodal tactile sensing with a dual‐resonant haptic actuator. The system enables linear pressure sensing that is decoupled from actuation and stable broadband vibrotactile feedback under dynamic contact conditions, supporting real‐time feedback modulation aligned

Electro-mechanical vibration control of functionally graded marine risers by a piezoelectric meta-structure design

open access: yesApplied Ocean Research
In this paper, a novel electro-mechanical meta-riser structure is designed aiming to suppress its vibration and wave propagation. The riser is made of porous functionally graded material (FGM), and is periodically attached with piezoelectric layers, each

Two-phase flow induced vibrations in a marine riser conveying a fluid with rectangular pulse train mass

open access: yesOcean Engineering, 2019
A riser conveys fluids from a subsea system to a host floater; however, oil and gas phases may alternate, increasing pipe's stress and damaging downstream facilities.

Site‐Specific Hydroxide Formation and Corrosion on Mg Nanocrystals

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Using single‐crystalline Mg nanocrystals, this study uncovers the intrinsic corrosion initiation mechanism. The stability of the protective Mg(OH)2 film depends on its interfacial coherence with the Mg substrate. Corrosion initiates at exposed corners, where film coverage is incomplete.
