System Dynamics Modelling and Simulation as Part of Education in Marine Science Colloquiums
By showing a characteristic theme of an educational unit, which is presented with the aid of a computerised simulation based on a mathematical model, a statement is illustrated claiming that utilisation of computers can shorten the time needed for presenting expert knowledge. At the same time, the quality and the clarity of the lecture is improved.

Marine Science Literacy and Misconceptions among Senior High School Students

Esophageal squamous cell carcinoma urgently requires new therapeutic strategies. Adenosine diphosphate‐ribosylation factor‐like protein 5B (ARL5B) is identified as a novel oncogene that remodels fatty acid metabolism through the ras homologous‐associated coiled‐coil containing protein kinase 1 (ROCK1)–sterol regulatory element‐binding protein 1 (SREBP1)

Mountains in the Sea: Food Web Mystery [PDF]
In this activity, students will focus on some unique aspects of food webs in the vicinity of seamounts. They will be able to describe typical marine food webs, and explain why food is generally scarce in the deep-ocean environment. They will then discuss

A simple method is developed to synthesize multifunctional nanoparticles (NPs), AuAgNPs with edged satellites (ES‐AuAgNPs). These NPs demonstrate peroxidase‐like (POD‐like) activity, SERS ability, and antibacterial properties. Utilizing these multifunctional capabilities, a portable, syringe‐sized biosensor is created that integrates screening ...
