Assessing the effectiveness of Sri Lankan marine protected areas: Challenges and recommendations
Conservation Science and Practice, EarlyView.We evaluated the biodiversity conservation effectiveness of 32 zones of Sri Lankan marine protected areas (MPA) and found that most are currently insufficiently protected. Threats to MPAs were not uniform, with harmful dredging/dumping, anchoring, fishing, and non‐extractive activities identified as major pressures affecting different sets of MPAs.

The FEBS Journal, EarlyView.We present the first crystal structures of human NIF3, revealing a dynamic, hexameric ring with a central cavity regulated by flexible insertion domains. Crucially, human NIF3 features a mononuclear zinc‐binding site, marking a distinct evolutionary departure from the dinuclear centers of bacterial homologs.
