Summary Background Nephrosplenic entrapment (NSE) is a common surgical colic in horses. Ventral midline laparotomy (VML) under general anaesthesia (GA) is the standard approach, whereas standing flank laparotomy (SFL) is an alternative approach for surgical correction. Leaf shape plasticity expression is variable in Mimulus laciniatus. Summary Phenotypic plasticity is a key mechanism by which organisms cope with environmental heterogeneity, but its evolutionary consequences depend on how plastic responses align with the broader adaptive landscape.

Abstract This essay honors three kinds of tradition. The first tradition is the poetry of Rex Lee Jim. The second tradition is the translation work of Blackhorse Mitchell. The third tradition is the discourse‐centered and ethnopoetic tradition of linguistic anthropology. I do this by focusing on a brief poem in Navajo by Rex Lee Jim.

Forest cover within cattle ranches can strongly shape faunal biodiversity. In Los Tuxtlas, Veracruz, Mexico. We show that butterflies, moths, dung beetles, and birds respond differently to forest cover across habitats (pastures vs. forest fragments) and seasons, as a function of their specialization and resource needs.
