Vasectomy: Its effect upon marital stability

The Journal of Sex Research, 1976
Fifty couples were studied by use of pre and post‐measurements to determine if vasectomy surgery has any significant effects on marital stability, communication and sexual satisfaction. Results indicate vasectomy correlates with improved marital stability.

The incidence of divorce or legal separation was studied in 438 families of children born with heart disease who entered the New England Regional Infant Cardiac Program between 1968 and 1973. The parents were interviewed when the children were 5½ years old.

We incorporate a multidimensional specification of religiosity into event-history models of the religion-marital stability relationship. Results are based on panel data from the National Survey of Families and Households (N = 4,587 married couples).
