Two‐Stage MPC‐Based Energy Optimization Scheduling for a Virtual Power Plant With Multiple Adjustable Resources in Electricity Spot Markets

open access: yesIET Generation, Transmission &Distribution, Volume 20, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
To address the reliable and economical operation of virtual power plants containing a large number of adjustable resources in the day‐ahead and intraday markets, a two‐stage Model Predictive Control (MPC) based optimization scheduling strategies for virtual power plants (VPPs) in the electricity spot market is proposed and discussed in this paper ...

An Optimal Nonlinear Controller Design on Multilevel Boost Converter Using Reinforcement Learning

open access: yesIET Power Electronics, Volume 19, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
Multilevel DC‐DC boost converters are critical in renewable and electric vehicle applications but face stability issues under constant power loads. This study introduces a modified integral nonlinear terminal sliding mode controller (MINTSMC) optimized with deep deterministic policy gradient (DDPG) within a digital twin framework, validated on hardware‐

Pathways to a Fully Renewable Energy System in Iran: A Scenario‐Based Analysis Across Power, Heat, Transport, Industry and Desalination

open access: yesIET Renewable Power Generation, Volume 20, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
This study assesses three transition pathways for Iran's energy system to 2050. Only the best policy scenario (BPS) achieves 100% renewables, with over 93% of primary energy from solar photovoltaics, extensive storage, and power‐to‐X technologies. In the BPS, CO2 emissions fall to zero and the levelised cost of electricity declines to €24.7/MWh by 2050.

Evaluation of the environmental impact of harbour activities: problem analisys and possible solutions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
A relevant problem is a main subject of this work: the pollution in ports close to inhabited zones where, due to the contemporaneous presence of many cruise ships, the contents of noxious elements in the air are excessive and the quality of life risks to

Finite state based power balance validation of a marine ferry microgrid under various operating conditions

open access: yesFranklin Open
With ever fluctuating marine loads, the need for optimised, less complex Power Management Scheme (PMS) for ferry microgrid becomes crucial. In this work, a Ro-Ro ferry based microgrid is presumed encompassing Diesel Generators (DGs), Solar PV and battery
