Fast Detection of Oil Spills and Ships Using SAR Images

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2017
In this paper, we show the capabilities of a new maritime control system based on the processing of COSMO-SkyMed Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) images. This system aims at fast detection of ships that may be responsible for illegal oil dumping.

Experimental results of maritime moving target detection based on passive bistatic radar using non-cooperative radar illuminators

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2019
A signal processing method of passive bistatic radar using non-cooperative pulse radar illuminators is proposed. The proposed method estimates unknown parameters of transmitting radar signal from direct-path signal, and uses estimated parameters for ...

On the cost-complexity of multi-context systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Multi-context systems provide a powerful framework for modelling information-aggregation systems featuring heterogeneous reasoning components. Their execution can, however, incur non-negligible cost. Here, we focus on cost-complexity of such systems.

An Efficient Ship Detection Method Based on YOLO and Ship Wakes Using High-Resolution Optical Jilin1 Satellite Imagery

open access: yesSensors
In this study, we propose a practical and efficient scheme for ship detection in remote sensing imagery. Our method is developed using both ship body detection and ship wake detection and combines deep learning and feature-based image processing.
