Markdown Optimization via Approximate Dynamic Programming [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Computational Intelligence Systems, 2013
We consider the markdown optimization problem faced by the leading apparel retail chain. Because of substitution among products the markdown policy of one product affects the sales of other products. Therefore, markdown policies for product groups having

Risk management externalities in agrifood supply chains

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Agricultural Economics, EarlyView.
Abstract Firms may under‐ or over‐invest in risk management from the social planner's perspective, resulting in a negative externality on other economic agents in the supply chain. The externality of risk management is particularly relevant for agrifood supply chains, which frequently experience disruptions and play a primary role in preventing major ...

PbAT: A user‐friendly R/Shiny platform for data‐driven decision support in crop improvement

open access: yesApplications in Plant Sciences, EarlyView.
Abstract Premise Modern plant breeding requires robust analysis of complex, multi‐environment datasets to identify superior genotypes. Although R offers powerful statistical packages, their use often requires programming expertise. Existing graphical user interface (GUI)‐based tools are either limited in scope or not openly accessible, leaving breeders

Intelligent Manufacturing, Industrial Agglomeration, and Green and Low‐Carbon Development: A Nonlinear Path Test Based on the Theory of Ecological Modernization

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Drawing upon ecological modernization theory as the analytical framework, this study employs macro‐level longitudinal tracking data covering China's major regions as research samples. It measures the green and low‐carbon development (GLCD) of manufacturing from the four dimensions—“carbon reduction, pollution mitigation, ecological expansion ...

MatInform: A Two‐Stage Multi‐Agent Framework for Consistent and Interpretable Extraction of Biomaterial Literatures

open access: yesMaterials Genome Engineering Advances, EarlyView.
We present an automated framework for extracting structured information from scientific literature using hierarchical multi‐agent coordination. Applied to 1469 titanium‐based antibacterial coating papers, MatInform achieves F1 = 0.905 and enables knowledge graph construction, model fine‐tuning, and interpretable SHAP‐based materials analysis.
