A Versatile Engineering Platform for the Fabrication of Prosthetic Venous Valves Using Electrospinning

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Percutaneous prosthetic venous valves are fabricated by embedding stents in an electrospun matrix that extends luminally to form leaflets. The design shields leaflets from hyperplastic cells, isolates struts from blood contact, and avoids discrete anchoring points.

Local network externalities and market segmentation [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper models interaction between groups of agents by means of a graph where each node represents a group of agents and an arc represents bilateral interaction. It departs from the standard Katz-Shapiro framework by assuming that network benefits are

Rapid Fabrication of Self‐Propelled and Steerable Magnetic Microcatheters for Precision Medicine

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A rapid Joule heating fabrication method for the production of self‐propelling, adaptive microcatheters, with tunable stiffness and integrated microfluidic channels is presented. Demonstrated through three microrobotic designs, including a steerable guiding catheter, an untethered wave‐crawling TubeBot, and a distal‐end propelled microcatheter, it was ...

Market Segmentation Strategies from Muqaddimah of Ibn Khaldun

open access: yesİbn Haldun Çalışmaları Dergisi, 2017
The concept of market segmentation strategies was firstly used by Wendell R. Smith (1956) in marketing literature. However, if we look carefully at the work of Ibn Khaldun, it is possible to see these strategies already in his Muqaddimah.

Take or Pay Contracts and Market Segmentation [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper examines competition in the liberalized natural gas market. Each .firm has zero marginal cost core capacity, due to long term contracts with take or pay obligations, and additional capacity at higher marginal costs. The market is decentralized

Reactive Carbide‐Based Synthesis and Microstructure of NASICON Sodium Metal All Solid‐State Electrolyte

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Sodium Metal All‐Solid State Batteries (Na‐ASSBs) are enabled by the synthesis of the solid state electrolyte, NASICON (Na1+xZr2SixP3‐xO12), using carbide‐based precursor compounds (ZrC and SiC); resulting in dense, pure, and mechanically improved microstructure.

Electrically Readable Lateral Flow Assay Using Organic Transistors for Diagnostic Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Electrolyte‐gated organic field‐effect transistors (EGOFETs) are integrated with lateral flow (LF) paper fluidics to create a reusable, portable, and low‐cost point‐of‐care (PoC) diagnostic test. The devices are validated for Human Immunoglobulin G detection, achieving high sensitivity (0.1 fm), selectivity, and reproducibility with rapid results in 20–
