HiST: Histological Images Reconstruct Tumor Spatial Transcriptomics via MultiScale Fusion Deep Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 13, 3 March 2026.
HiST, a multiscale deep learning framework, reconstructs spatially resolved gene expression profiles directly from histological images. It accurately identifies tumor regions, captures intratumoral heterogeneity, and predicts patient prognosis and immunotherapy response.

Analysis of historical climate change and its impacts on bread wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) production in Central Oromia, Ethiopia

open access: yesAgrosystems, Geosciences &Environment, Volume 9, Issue 1, March 2026.
Abstract This study examines the impact of climate change on bread wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) yield in Central Oromia, Ethiopia, using climate and yield data from the past 32 years. Historical daily climate data were obtained from the Ethiopian Meteorological Institute, while observed wheat yield data were collected from the respective Zonal ...

Enhancing Q‐Learning via State‐Space Design for Active Battery Balancing

open access: yesBattery Energy, Volume 5, Issue 2, March 2026.
This study investigates the profound impact of state definition on the efficacy of Q‐learning for active battery balancing in lithium‐ion battery packs. We define and evaluate three distinct state representations—[State 1, 11‐state space definition], [State 2, 27‐state space definition], and [State 3, 81‐state space definition]—within a reinforcement ...

GWAS reveals novel QTLs associated with panicle architecture traits in US long‐grain rice

open access: yesCrop Science, Volume 66, Issue 2, March/April 2026.
Abstract Understanding the variability of panicle architecture‐related traits is important to enhance rice (Oryza sativa L.) improvement. The present study evaluated 208 diverse rice lines of southern rice breeding programs for panicle length (PL), panicle weight (PW), and thousand grain weight (GW).

Movement Models to Predict Low‐Altitude Flight of Soaring Birds Using Look‐Ahead Environmental Factors

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 3, March 2026.
Eagles see ahead. Now our model does too. By modeling how eagles respond to terrain and wind conditions in their line of sight, we can predict where they'll fly in the next 3 min with 3× better accuracy than current methods—protecting eagles while maximizing energy production.

Spatial Segregation and Trophic Niche Divergence in Two Disjunct Populations of Wedge‐Tailed Shearwater Ardenna pacifica in Eastern Australia

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 3, March 2026.
This study investigated habitat use and trophic niche differentiation in two wedge‐tailed shearwater populations in eastern Australia (2015 to 2019). Temperate birds foraged mainly in southeastern Australian waters and undertook a pre‐staging detour towards the subtropical frontal zone before migration, whereas subtropical birds foraged further east ...
