Modelling historical and future land use and land cover change impacts on hydrology in Yadot Watershed, Genale Dawa Basin, Ethiopia

open access: yesDiscover Geoscience
Land use and land cover change (LULCC) is a primary driver of environmental change, significantly affecting watershed hydrological processes. This study examines the effects of LULCC on hydrological parameters in the Yadot watershed of the Genale Dawa ...

Assessing physiological, behavioral and movement responses to Suprelorin implant delivery methods in free‐ranging eastern grey kangaroos Macropus giganteus

open access: yesWildlife Biology, EarlyView.
Overabundant populations of eastern grey kangaroos Macropus giganteus in peri‐urban areas pose ecological and social challenges. Current management strategies are often hindered by animal welfare and logistical concerns. This study aimed to assess stress responses of kangaroos to two contraceptive delivery methods.

Structure and composition of supported lipid bilayers: a comparison between solvent‐assisted lipid bilayer and vesicle fusion methods

open access: yesJournal of Applied Crystallography, EarlyView.
Neutron reflectometry is used to compare supported lipid bilayers formed by vesicle fusion and solvent‐assisted lipid bilayer (SALB) methods, revealing structurally comparable architectures with minor differences in acyl chain thickness and low residual solvent incorporation.

Twin‐compartment solid–liquid cells for neutron reflectometry

open access: yesJournal of Applied Crystallography, EarlyView.
We introduce a twin‐compartment solid–liquid cell for neutron reflectometry that divides a single substrate into two independent measurement areas, doubling sample capacity and enabling direct side‐by‐side comparisons. This sample environment also reduces alignment and sample preparation time and has been successfully tested on both vertical and ...

Cost‐Effectiveness Analysis of Ritlecitinib Compared With No Treatment in Patients With Severe Alopecia Areata in Japan

open access: yesThe Journal of Dermatology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The efficacy and safety of ritlecitinib, a dual inhibitor of Janus kinase 3 (JAK3) and tyrosine kinase expressed in hepatocellular carcinoma (TEC) family kinases, have been demonstrated in the ALLEGRO phase 2b/3 trial that enrolled patients aged ≥ 12 years with alopecia areata (AA) and ≥ 50% scalp hair loss.

New opportunities for grassland species in warming temperate winters

open access: yesFunctional Ecology, EarlyView.
Read the free Plain Language Summary for this article on the Journal blog. Abstract Temperate winters are getting warmer, the length of the growing season is increasing and mid‐winter fluctuations of warm and freezing temperatures are more frequent. Although typically winter dormant, some herbaceous perennials can maintain or grow green leaves during ...
