On the Deterministic and Asymptotic σ-Algebras of a Markov Operator

open access: yes, 1989
Let P be a Markov operator on L∞(X, Σ, m) which does not disappear (i.e., P1A ≡ 0 => 1A ≡ 0 ) . We study the relationship between the σ-algebras(the deterministicσ-algebra), and the asymptoticσ-algebraWhen m is a σ-finite invariant measure ...

Resonances for graph directed Markov systems, and geometry of infinitely generated dynamical systems

open access: yes, 2009
In the first part of this thesis we transfer a result of Guillopé et al. concerning the number of zeros of the Selberg zeta function for convex cocompact Schottky groups to the setting of certain types of graph directed Markov systems (GDMS ...

Quantum stochastic convolution cocycles II [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Schurmann's theory of quantum Levy processes, and more generally the theory of quantum stochastic convolution cocycles, is extended to the topological context of compact quantum groups and operator space coalgebras.

Markov-chain Monte Carlo method enhanced by a quantum alternating operator ansatz

open access: yesPhysical Review Research
Quantum computation is expected to accelerate certain computational tasks over classical counterparts. Its most primitive advantage is its ability to sample from classically intractable probability distributions.

Intrinsic and Measured Information in Separable Quantum Processes

open access: yesEntropy
Stationary quantum information sources emit sequences of correlated qudits—that is, structured quantum stochastic processes. If an observer performs identical measurements on a qudit sequence, the outcomes are a realization of a classical stochastic ...

Temporal neural operator for modeling time-dependent physical phenomena

open access: yesScientific Reports
Neural Operators (NOs) are machine learning models designed to solve partial differential equations (PDEs) by learning to map between function spaces.

GENERALIZED TRANSLATION OPERATORS AND MARKOV PROCESSES

open access: yesDemonstratio Mathematica, 2001
Summary: We study the relationship between generalized translation operators and stochastic convolutions on locally compact spaces. We prove that stochastic convolution semigroups can generate Lévy type processes which are strong Markov Feller processes and, as an example, we study the Bingham convolution and its dual on integers.

Entry, Exit, and Structural Change in Pennsylvania's Dairy Sector

open access: yes
Data on the number of Pennsylvania dairy farms by size category are analyzed in a Markov chain setting to determine factors affecting entry, exit, expansion, and contraction within the sector.
