Intelligent Supportive System for People with Profound Intellectual and Multiple Disabilities
A holistic INSENSION system is developed—a novel intelligent decision support system leveraging state‐of‐the‐art noninvasive audio‐visual sensor technologies together with machine learning algorithms and expert knowledge, to detect and interpret behaviors and communications (nonverbal signals—NVSs) of people with PIMD in challenging real‐world ...

ABSTRACT Sharp force trauma (SFT) is the main criterion used to identify chop mark butchery in zooarchaeology, yet its reliability as a diagnostic feature has not been systematically tested. Chop marks reflect both cutting and fracturing processes and exhibit characteristics of both sharp and blunt trauma.

State estimation for temporal point processes [PDF]
This paper is concerned with combined inference for point processes on the real line observed in a broken interval. For such processes, the classic history-based approach cannot be used.

Robust adaptive efficient estimation for semi-Markov nonparametric regression models
We consider the nonparametric robust estimation problem for regression models in continuous time with semi-Markov noises. An adaptive model selection procedure is proposed.

Closed-form solution of decomposable stochastic models [PDF]
Markov and semi-Markov processes are increasingly being used in the modeling of complex reconfigurable systems (fault tolerant computers). The estimation of the reliability (or some measure of performance) of the system reduces to solving the process for

Wide sense one-dependent processes with embedded Harris chains and their applications in inventory management [PDF]
In this paper we consider stochastic processes with an embedded Harris chain. The embedded Harris chain describes the dependence structure of the stochastic process.

The objective of this research has been to characterize in terms of spectral representations and interval distributions the univariate point process resulting from the superposition of a finite number of independent, identically distributed renewal processes with either Erlang or hyperexponential interval distributions.
