The primitive spectrum of a semigroup of Markov operators
For a semigroup S of Markov operators on a space of continuous functions, we use S-invariant ideals to describe qualitative properties of S such as mean ergodicity and the structure of its fixed space.

Vladimirov–Pearson operators on ζ$\zeta$‐regular ultrametric Cantor sets
Abstract A new operator for certain types of ultrametric Cantor sets is constructed using the measure coming from the spectral triple associated with the Cantor set, as well as its zeta function. Under certain mild conditions on that measure, it is shown that it is an integral operator similar to the Vladimirov–Taibleson operator on the p$p$‐adic ...

On the Stationary Measure for Markov Branching Processes
A previous study determined criteria ensuring that a probability distribution supported in positive integers is the limiting conditional law of a subcritical Markov branching process.

Semigroups, Rings, and Markov Chains
We analyze random walks on a class of semigroups called ``left-regular bands''. These walks include the hyperplane chamber walks of Bidigare, Hanlon, and Rockmore. Using methods of ring theory, we show that the transition matrices are diagonalizable and we calculate the eigenvalues and multiplicities.

Debiasing piecewise deterministic Markov process samplers using couplings
Abstract Monte Carlo methods—such as Markov chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) and piecewise deterministic Markov process (PDMP) samplers—provide asymptotically exact estimators of expectations under a target distribution. There is growing interest in alternatives to this asymptotic regime, in particular in constructing estimators that are exact in the limit of ...

Efficient Simulation of Open Quantum Systems on NISQ Trapped‐Ion Hardware
Open quantum systems exhibit rich dynamics that can be simulated efficiently on quantum computers, allowing us to learn more about their behavior. This work applies a new method to simulate certain open quantum systems on noisy trapped‐ion quantum hardware.

ABSTRACT We consider reaction–diffusion systems with multiplicative noise on a spatial domain of dimension two or higher. The noise process is white in time, colored in space, and invariant under translations. Inspired by previous works on the real line, we establish the multidimensional stability of planar waves on a cylindrical domain on timescales ...

Maximal Commutative Subalgebras Invariant for CP-Maps: (Counter-)Examples
We solve, mainly by counterexamples, many natural questions regarding maximal commutative subalgebras invariant under CP-maps or semigroups of CP-maps on a von Neumann algebra.

Stochastic integration with respect to cylindrical Lévy processes in Hilbert spaces
Abstract In this work, we present a comprehensive theory of stochastic integration with respect to arbitrary cylindrical Lévy processes in Hilbert spaces. As cylindrical Lévy processes do not enjoy a semimartingale decomposition, our approach relies on an alternative approach to stochastic integration by decoupled tangent sequences.
