Cerebellar Transcranial Alternating Current Stimulation in the Theta Band Prevents Recall of the Initial Fear Association After Extinction Training

open access: yesHuman Brain Mapping, Volume 47, Issue 8, June 1, 2026.
In this 3 T fMRI study, 6 Hz cerebellar transcranial alternating current stimulation (ctACS) was applied to modulate cerebellar function during extinction training in healthy participants. ctACS applied during extinction training reduced spontaneous fear recovery during recall.

Freshwater Navigation Is Linked to Non‐Native Species Distributions Across Spatial Scales

open access: yesDiversity and Distributions, Volume 32, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Aim Invasive species are among the most important drivers of native species declines, and cause serious economic and ecological costs. Globally, Europe is a hotspot for freshwater non‐native species, especially among macroinvertebrates and fish, and inland navigation is thought to be a major driver of their spread. However, the degree to which

Does Weight Loss Translate to Workplace Gains? Results of an Employment Questionnaire in Adults With Prediabetes and Overweight or Obesity

open access: yesDiabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, Volume 28, Issue 6, Page 5001-5010, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Aims Excess weight is associated with adverse health and economic disadvantage. Observational studies suggest that people with obesity are less likely to be employed and have lower income, potentially from workplace discrimination. This study examined whether weight loss achieved through a structured, dietitian‐supported program improved ...

Temperature Dependent Small-Signal Neural Modeling of High-Periphery GaN HEMTs

open access: yes, 2019
This paper analyzes the thermal dependence of high-periphery GaN-on-SiC HEMT performance. The proposed approach is based on artificial neural networks (ANNs) that are used to model the scattering parameters versus temperature and frequency under a high ...

A Quiet Turning to the Language of Neighbours: Relational Sociolinguistics as Ethical Encounter

open access: yesJournal of Sociolinguistics, Volume 30, Issue 3, Page 323-328, June 2026.
ABSTRACT This commentary foregrounds a sociolinguistic research agenda that seeks to generate ethical forms of political co‐existence in places of inhospitality. I adopt the lens of relational ethics that centres attending to those in our presence, our neighbours, without ambition of mastery.

What Drives the Centralization or Decentralization of Network Governance? A Configurational Analysis in Different Health and Social Care Networks

open access: yesPublic Administration, Volume 104, Issue 2, Page 266-289, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Many studies have sought to identify the contingency factors of success in various network governance mechanisms. Despite the relevance of their results, the contingency factors that determine the establishment of specific governance forms remain unclear.

Redesigning Risk Assessments in the Age of AI: Emergence of the Opacity Risk Dimension

open access: yesRisk Analysis, Volume 46, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT The foundational instruments of organizational risk analysis, most notably the two‐dimensional Impact × Probability matrix, were designed for failures in traditional and predictable systems. As such, they are ill‐equipped to address the unpredictability and complexity that define modern artificial intelligence.
