The Primary Structure of the Hemoglobin of the European Marmot(Marmota marmota marmota,Rodentia)

Biological Chemistry Hoppe-Seyler, 1986
The hemoglobin of the European marmot Marmota marmota marmota has been found to consist of only one component. In this work, we are presenting its primary structure. The globin chains have been separated by high performance liquid chromatography and the sequences have been determined by automated Edman degradation of the chains and their tryptic ...

These karyotypes are gifts of Dr. M. Fraccaro, Pavia, Italy. The specimens were collected in the Italian Alps. Bone marrow of the male and kidney cultures of the female were used for cytological preparations. Detailed karyological accounts of this species and its relations to other marmots are presented in the paper of Fernandez-Donoso et al.
