It Is Personal: What People with Parkinson's Disease Say Matters Most for Quality of Life
Abstract Background Little is known about what matters most for quality of life in people with Parkinson's disease and how much it varies between individuals. Objective The goal was to define the relative impact of quality of life determinants in people with Parkinson's disease, including variation across individuals and by disease severity, gender ...

The Marshall-Lerner Condition: Stability of an Equilibrium or a System?
This article examines the Marshall-Lerner (ML) condition from a broader perspective. Mundell (1968) regarded ML as the stability condition of the equilibrium, but not of the system. The violation of the ML condition by Japan's estimates is interpreted as a possible symptom of a negative exchange rate depreciation spiral in Thorbecke (2022).

Numerical Investigation of Bored Tunnelling Effects on Pile‐Supported Superstructures
ABSTRACT Tunnelling in urban environments can significantly affect existing buried structures such as pile foundations. However, the current understanding of how tunnelling‐induced ground movements influence the stability and serviceability of piles remains limited. This knowledge gap presents potential risks that must be addressed during tunnel design

Volumetric Properties of Waste-Modified Asphalt Mixtures through Marshall Stability
The rising needful for sustainable road construction materials yield to extensive research on asphalt modifi cation using waste materials such as industrial and agricultural, therefore this study explores the use of palm oil fuel ash (POFA), garnet waste, and sawdust as individual modifi ers to enhance the volumetric and mechanical properties of ...

The traditional method for determining the Marshall stability (MS) and Marshall flow (MF) of asphalt pavements is laborious, time consuming, and costly. This study aims to predict these parameters using explainable machine-learning techniques. A comprehensive database comprising 721 hot mix asphalt (HMA) data points was established, including ...

More than meets the eye: The hidden burden of temporary feeding tubes on children and their families
Abstract Background Although pediatric temporary (e.g., nasogastric) feeding tubes are widely used for short‐term nutrition support, family impacts remain poorly defined. Research from long‐term (e.g., gastrostomy) feeding tubes does not generalize because management and burdens differ. This study aimed to explore the financial, time and family burdens

Analysis of Marshall's Stability of Hot Mixtures with Machine Learning
Road transport is the most widely used transport network globally and in Turkey. Every year, asphalt mix designs are prepared for the deterioration or reconstruction of road pavements. Since asphalt mixture designs affect the mechanical and physical properties of roads, they also directly affect their performance. For this purpose, Marshall design, one

Abstract Background Temporary feeding tubes are common in pediatric healthcare, but research on understanding how clinicians manage their use and understand the impact on families is limited. Existing research often overlooks clinician perspectives despite tensions between clinical priorities and family needs. This study aimed to understand clinicians'

In the wild, individuals consistently differ in movement and space use behaviours, depending on their personality. This variation can lead to personality–habitat associations and spatial structuring, potentially generating individual niche segregation.
