Use of the marshall stability test for asphalt mixtures

Journal of Applied Chemistry, 1961
AbstractThe paper describes the introduction of the Marshall stability test into commercial use in the U.K. and discusses the practical problems which have arisen. Information is given regarding the influence of aggregate grading and particle shape, and of variation in the percentage and nature of the binder employed. It is shown that particle shape is

Modelling Marshall Stability of fiber reinforced asphalt mixtures with ANFIS

2017 IEEE International Conference on INnovations in Intelligent SysTems and Applications (INISTA), 2017
In this study, an Adaptive Neural Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) model for predicting the Marshall Stability (MS) of basalt fiber reinforced asphalt concrete mixtures and various mix proportions has been developed. Experimental details were used to construct the model.

Flow and Stability Limits for Six-Inch-Diameter Marshall Specimens

Journal of Testing and Evaluation, 1993
Abstract Finite element analyses were conducted to determine appropriate specifications for limits on flow and stability of 6-in. (152.4-mm) diameter specimens in the Marshall procedure for mix design of bituminous concrete. Loads and deformations on 6-in.-diameter specimens were determined that result in a state of stress similar to ...

Balkan Stability and the Second Marshall Plan""

2000
Abstract : The current U.S. policy for reconstruction in the Balkans is represented by the Balkan Stability Pact and is being touted as a second Marshall Plan. The United Nations (UN) Security Council Resolution that brought an end to the recent conflict recognizes the need for a coordinated international effort to support Kosovo's reconstruction and ...

Marshall stability properties of asphalt mixture incorporating black rice husk ash

Materials Today: Proceedings, 2018
Abstract The commercial value of black rice husk ash (BRHA) has increased, and it is suitable for use in highway construction. In this study, BRHA waste was ground using a grinding ball mill to fine particles size less than 75μm. Four BRHA contents were considered in the study i.e. 0%, 2%, 4%, and 6% by weight of binder.

Evaluation of Marshall Stability Design Principles: Applied to Cold In-Place Recycling

Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board, 2018
The objective of this paper is to document limitations and robustness issues with Marshall stability (MS) testing for cold in-place recycling (CIR) mix designs. This paper focuses efforts on MS because many departments of transportation are using this test for CIR design, and the data presented in this paper supports abandonment for any type of CIR ...
