ABSTRACT The demand for advanced aerospace components necessitates near‐α titanium alloys with enhanced high‐temperature performance and compatibility with additive manufacturing (AM). To address this, an in situ alloying strategy was employed to co‐modify a Ti‐6.5Al‐2Zr‐Mo‐V alloy with Si and Y during laser powder bed fusion.

ABSTRACT Precipitation of isothermal ω phase is an effective way to strengthen the metastable β‐Ti alloys but generally severely embrittles the materials by suppressing stress‐induced martensitic transformation and deformation twinning. Here, we architect heterogeneous structures with tailored ω phase in a metastable β‐Ti‐20Zr‐12Nb‐2Sn alloy via ...

ABSTRACT Many metallic components are frequently subjected to coupled environments of friction and vibration, stemming from interfacial contact and relative motion between mating parts or external stimuli. Consequently, it is imperative for these components to exhibit a synergy of high wear resistance and superior damping properties.

This experimental study investigates the thermodynamic limits of the Al–Mn τ ferromagnetic phase within complex‐composition alloys (CCAs). Using nine rare‐earth‐free compositions, it explores a broad region of the pseudobinary AlMnCoFeNi system. The results reveal intricate links between composition, phase stability, and magnetic behavior, highlighting
