Modeling the Water‐Ice Bounding Layers in the Massive CO2 Ice Deposits, South Pole of Mars
Abstract Recent orbital radar observations point to a massive reservoir of solid CO2 near Mars' South Pole, which contains bounding layers (BLs) of water ice. Here, we examine the impact of the water ice bounding layers on the thermo‐mechanical behavior of the MCID.

ABSTRACT Classical bioethics examines moral issues in terrestrial medicine and the life sciences. According to Konrad Szocik, space bioethics merely relocates those questions to harsher environments. We argue that this view is incomplete: space bioethics is a genuinely original domain.

Global Occurrence of Solitary Waves in the Martian Magnetosphere
Abstract This letter presents a global occurrence of bipolar solitary waves (SWs) in the Martian magnetosphere. We utilized medium‐frequency electric field measurements from October 2014 to December 2023 from the Mars Atmosphere and Volatile EvolutioN (MAVEN) spacecraft.

Phobos and Deimos: A base for sampling the Martian past
Future exploration of Mars is summed up by the proposal that the Martian satellites provide an ideal base for exploring the surface of Mars. For example, a manned base on Deimos could direct a series of unmanned rovers and sample recovery operations ...

Physics‐Informed Neural Networks for Modeling the Martian Induced Magnetosphere
Abstract Understanding the magnetic field environment around Mars and its response to upstream solar wind conditions provide key insights into the processes driving atmospheric ion escape. To date, global models of Martian induced magnetosphere have been exclusively physics‐based, relying on computationally intensive simulations. For the first time, we

Simulations of meteoroid impacts on Phobos and global crater distributions
Using a data base of 1037 periodic comets, we identified time of activity of potential Martian meteoroid streams. We derived a model of the cumulative particle flux as function of distance from the stream axis.

Abstract The observed inter‐annual variability of Global Dust Events (GDE) occurrence on Mars remains challenging to understand and therefore to predict. Several hypotheses have been investigated so far, but a central aspect seems to be missing: How the heterogeneity of the surface dust cover and regolith particle size distributions relate to regional ...

Radar investigation of asteroids and planetary satellites
Radar reconnaissance of near-Earth asteroids, mainbelt asteroids, the Galilean satellites, the Martian satellites, and large Saturnian satellites, using the Arecibo 13-cm and the Goldstone 3.5-cm systems is discussed.

Studies of Phobos' orbit, rotation, and shape using Spacecraft image data
Images obtained by the High Resolution Stereo Camera (HRSC) and the uper Resolution Channel (SRC) on the European Mars Express (MEX) spacecraft have renewed the interest in Phobos, the larger of the two Martian satellites.
