Polarimetric and photometric simulation of the Martian surface
Icarus, 1969Abstract An approach is presented to obtain a truly rational interpretation of the Martian surface and atmosphere. Polarimetric and photometric properties of ore specimens (limonite, siderite, desert varnish, and serpentine), considered good prospects for the Martian surface, are presented for the colors B(0.48 μ), G(0.54 μ), and I(1.0 μ).

Surface Pressures in the Martian Highlands and Lowlands
Nature, 1967CONFLICTING opinions have been expressed on the question of elevation of the Martian dark areas (maria) relative to the bright areas (deserts).

Dielectric Map of the Martian Surface
2005We have undertaken laboratory electromagnetic characterization of the total set of minerals identified by TES [1] on the Martian surface in order to investigate experimentally the dielectric properties of the sediments covering it in the frequency range from 1 to 1000 MHz.

Surface processes modifying Martian craters
Icarus, 1968Abstract Martian craters, even through many times more abundant than thought from initial inspection of Mariner IV photos, are less numerous, shallower, and have gentler slopes than craters on lunar uplands. This implies more effective action on Mars of some exogenous process or processes of erosion or deposition.
