Anaerobic Corrosion Phenomena of Cast Iron and Copper in Artificial Groundwater at Elevated Temperature

open access: yesMaterials and Corrosion, EarlyView.
This study examines corrosion of copper and cast iron as candidate canister materials for high‐level radioactive waste disposal in contact with bentonite suspension. The influence of three electrolyte compositions on corrosion behavior under repository‐relevant conditions is assessed.

Biglycan-mediated upregulation of MHC class I expression in HER-2/neu-transformed cells

open access: yesOncoImmunology, 2018
The extracellular matrix protein biglycan (BGN) has oncogenic or tumor suppressive potential depending on the cellular origin. HER-2/neu overexpression in murine fibroblasts and human model systems is inversely correlated with BGN expression.

Augmentation of the Sympathetic Skin Response after Electrical Train Stimuli

open access: yesFrontiers in Neurology, 2012
It is well known that the size of the SSR (sympathetic skin response) depends on the stimulus strength. In the present investigation train stimuli (TS) were employed to study the behaviour of the SSR when recruited above the usual level.

Imaging and phase-locking of non-linear spin waves

open access: yesNature Communications, 2022
Many proposed spin-wave based devices make use of non-linear behaviour of spin-waves. Here, Dreyer et al show the emergence of non-linear spin waves oscillating at half-integer harmonics in the strong modulation regime. By applying super-Nyquist sampling

Mono‐ and Bivalent Poly(iso‐butylene)‐Alanines for Drug‐Delivery of Nimodipine and Triamcinolone Acetonide

open access: yesMacromolecular Rapid Communications, EarlyView.
Mono‐ and bivalent‐, alanine‐modified poly‐iso‐butylenes, folding into beta‐sheets, were prepared by living carbocationic polymerization and subsequent endgroup modification. These PIB‐conjugates are useful as solid polymers for the drug release of triamcinolone and nimodipine. ABSTRACT Poly‐iso‐butylene (PIB) is a well known biocompatible polymer with

Lectotypifications and taxonomic changes in the holoparasitic Orobanchaceae

open access: yesNordic Journal of Botany, EarlyView.
Based on further extensive studies of specimens in various herbaria, lectotypes are designated for many taxa of holoparasitic Orobanchaceae. In particular, 47 names in the genera Boschniakia (incl. Xylanche), Cistanche, Orobanche, Phelipanche and Phelypaea are lectotypified.
