Spectral Characterization of the Life Stages and Physiological Responses of Diatraea saccharalis Fabricius (Lepidoptera: Crambidae) Larvae Parasitized by Cotesia flavipes Cameron (Hymenoptera: Braconidae)

open access: yesEntomologia Experimentalis et Applicata, Volume 174, Issue 5, Page 436-452, May 2026.
Hyperspectral proximal sensing was used to characterize the life stages and physiological responses of Diatraea saccharalis and to detect parasitism by Cotesia flavipes. Distinct spectral signatures differentiated eggs, larval instars, pupae, and adults, as well as live, dead, and parasitized larvae.

Optimising Outcomes in Endodontic Microsurgery: Evidence, Uncertainties and Future Directions

open access: yesInternational Endodontic Journal, Volume 59, Issue 5, Page 746-761, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Endodontic microsurgery (EMS) is a reliable treatment modality for managing persistent or recurrent periapical pathologies, particularly when conventional nonsurgical retreatment is infeasible or has failed. Various factors influence EMS outcomes, among which the lesion type is a key determinant.

Design, Synthesis, and Evaluation of New Polyhydroxylated Bis‐Chalcones as Potential COX‐2 Selective Inhibitors

open access: yesChemMedChem, Volume 21, Issue 8, 28 April 2026.
Novel polyhydroxylated bis‐chalcones were successfully synthesized and demonstrated COX‐2 selective inhibition. The most potent and selective inhibitor exhibited a mixed‐type inhibition mechanism with COX‐2. Its additional bulk preferentially blocked the access to the active pocket of COX‐1 rather than COX‐2. Selective inhibition of COX‐2 is considered

Effect of Plyometric Training on Vertical Jump Height in Pre‐Peak Height Velocity Boys and Girls Aged 9–11 Years

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Sport Science, Volume 26, Issue 4, April 2026.
ABSTRACT This study aimed to compare changes in countermovement jump (CMJ) height and take‐off velocity, force and power in pre‐peak height velocity (pre‐PHV) boys and girls aged 9–11 years following 6 weeks of lower body plyometric training (PT). Forty pre‐PHV children (20 boys and 20 girls) were allocated to a plyometric training group (PG; n = 20 ...
