Marx against Marx: A Critical Reading of the "Fragment on Machines"

open access: yestripleC: Communication, Capitalism & Critique, 2019
Marx’s Fragment on Machines is sometimes held up as a creative departure from orthodoxy, and a prescient harbinger of a knowledge economy. In particular the concept of general intellect, which appears uniquely in the Fragment, is celebrated as a key ...

Resolving the Sodiation Process in Hard Carbon Anodes with Nanostructure Specific X‐Ray Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
SWAXS imaging is demonstrated as a characterization method to investigate sodiation mechanisms of hard carbon anodes. Structural changes are mapped across the anode and reveals that micropore filling is dominating the later stages of sodiation, while intercalation occurs continuously.

Bandgap‐Dependent Doping of Semiconducting Carbon Nanotube Networks by Proton‐Coupled Electron Transfer for Stable Thermoelectrics

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Proton‐coupled electron transfer doping with benzoquinone is applied to p‐dope dense films of semiconducting single‐walled carbon nanotubes. The doping efficiency depends on the pH of the doping solution and the bandgap of the nanotubes. The highest conductivities and power factors are achieved for small‐bandgap nanotubes, remaining stable for over 120

METHOD FOR STEP-BY-STEP ADAPTATION OF THE WIDTH OF MEASUREMENT INTERVAL TO SIGNAL PARAMETERS [PDF]

open access: yesVestnik KRAUNC: Fiziko-Matematičeskie Nauki, 2019
It is indicated that the known methods for measuring some initial signal lead to errors if the width of the measuring intervals does not step by step adapt to changing signal parameters. A new approach to measurement is used, revealing a unified physical

Selective Electrochemical Reduction of CO2 to Metal Oxalates in Nonaqueous Solutions Using Trace Metal Pb on Carbon Supports Enhanced by a Tailored Microenvironment

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Encapsulating trace lead (Pb) in carbon electrodes with a fluoropolymer tailors the microenvironment for carbon dioxide (CO2) reduction. This enhances efficiency and selectivity, offering a tunable approach to guide reaction pathways and improve product outcomes in electrochemical CO2 conversion.

1. The Heritage of Modern Socialist Ideas

open access: yes, 1958
Of the total heritage which gave birth to modern socialism, brief attention may be given to certain of the predecessors of Karl Marx. Although some now are saved from obscurity only by the diligence of interested historians, others generated powerful ...
