How to make a clean separation between CMB E and B modes with proper foreground masking
We investigate the E/B decomposition of CMB polarization on a masked sky. In real space, operators of E and B mode decomposition involve only differentials of CMB polarization.

The cosmic microwave background Cold Spot anomaly: the impact of sky masking and the expected contribution from the Integrated Sachs-Wolfe effect [PDF]
We re-analyse the cosmic microwave background (CMB) Cold Spot (CS) anomaly with particular focus on understanding the bias a mask (contaminated by Galactic and point sources) may introduce.

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the widespread use of disposable face masks generated substantial waste, much of which ends up in terrestrial environments. However, the impact of this discarded material on soil ecosystems remains poorly understood.

Method for growing low defect, high purity crystalline layers utilizing lateral overgrowth of a patterned mask [PDF]
A method for growing a high purity, low defect layer of semiconductor is described. This method involves depositing a patterned mask of a material impervious to impurities of the semiconductor on a surface of a blank.

Motion of Contact Line of a Crystal Over the Edge of Solid Mask in Epitaxial Lateral Overgrowth [PDF]
Mathematical model that allows for direct tracking of the homoepitaxial crystal growth out of the window etched in the solid, pre-deposited layer on the substrate is described.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.
