Detection of circulating tumor DNA in colorectal cancer patients using a methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed a cost‐effective methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex assay containing tissue‐conserved and tumor‐specific methylation markers. The assay can detect circulating tumor DNA with high accuracy in patients with localized and metastatic colorectal cancer.

Unprecedented mass loss of Aldegondabreen, central Spitsbergen, Svalbard

open access: yesJournal of Glaciology
We have been conducting mass-balance monitoring on Aldegondabreen since the early 21st century. Over the most recent five year period (2019/20–2023/24), the glacier has experienced its most negative mass balance, averaging −2.0 m w.e. a−1.

RR Tel: MASS LOSS RATE OF THE COOL COMPONENT

open access: yesOdessa Astronomical Publications, 2017
The Fe II emission lines in the optical spectrum of the symbiotic star RR Tel, observed by Crawford et al. (1999), have been analysed applying the SAC method.

Mass Loss from Highly Evolved Stars [PDF]

open access: yesSymposium - International Astronomical Union, 1984
This is a summarizing discussion about detailed studies of stellar winds from hot, subluminous stars of different classes: two sdO's (Hamann et al., 1981), three extreme helium stars (Hamann et al.,1982) and one CPN (Hamann et al.,1983). All program stars have been analyzed previously in Kiel by non-LTE techniques with respect to effective temperature,

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Hydrodynamical mass-loss rates for very massive stars

open access: yesAstronomy & Astrophysics
Radiation-driven winds are ubiquitous in massive stars, but in very massive stars (VMSs), mass loss dominates their evolution, chemical yields, and ultimate fate. Theoretical predictions have often relied on extrapolations of O-star prescriptions, likely

Developing evidence‐based, cost‐effective P4 cancer medicine for driving innovation in prevention, therapeutics, patient care and reducing healthcare inequalities

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The cancer problem is increasing globally with projections up to the year 2050 showing unfavourable outcomes in terms of incidence and cancer‐related deaths. The main challenges are prevention, improved therapeutics resulting in increased cure rates and enhanced health‐related quality of life.
