Mass Effects

Ecology, 2021
In the last two decades, community ecology has matured to consider biotic communities as a product of both local and regional processes. Therefore, local communities are currently thought to be connected by the dispersal of organisms, thereby forming a metacommunity. A metacommunity is organized by multiple processes, including environmental filtering,

Polaron effective mass

Physical Review B, 1988
Adequacy of various definitions of polaron effective mass ${m}^{\mathrm{*}}$ is examined. The expression for ${m}^{\mathrm{*}}$ obtained by using the zero-temperature kernel is compared with the zero-temperature limit of the temperature-dependent effective mass obtained by employing the finite-temperature kernel.

CEQD: A Complex Mass Function to Predict Interference Effects

IEEE Transactions on Cybernetics, 2021
Uncertainty is inevitable in the decision-making process of real applications. Quantum mechanics has become an interesting and popular topic in predicting and explaining human decision-making behaviors, especially regarding interference effects caused by

Composite-fermion effective masses

Physical Review B, 1995
Fractional quantum-Hall-effect features around filling factor ν=½ have been analyzed using the composite-fermion approach. Effective masses deduced from the temperature dependence of the Shubnikov–de Haas (SdH) oscillations, in agreement with other measurements, show a divergence as the filling factor approaches ν=½ and scale as (density)¹/².

«Target mass» and «effective target mass»

Il Nuovo Cimento, 1965
The concept of « target mass » and « effective target mass » is discussed. Evidence is presented which questions the validity of attempting to relate the « effective target mass » to the concept of a virtual pion surrounding the nucleon. Eelations between the 4-momentum transfer, the quantity (E — P cos θ) of the recoil nucleon and the « effective ...

The side effects of mass tourism: the voices of Bali islanders

Asia Pacific Journal of Tourism Research, 2020
This research extends preceding academic efforts concerning the impacts of mass tourism to the socio-cultural well-being of the hosts. A total of 20 Bali islanders who have met the predetermined criteria were sampled. Results suggesting that mass tourism
