A tandem mass spectrometric study of saccharides at high mass resolution

Rapid Communications in Mass Spectrometry, 2005
Abstract Nine monosaccharides and four disaccharides were mass analyzed using a quadrupole time‐of‐flight tandem mass spectrometer combined with an electrospray ionization source. Product ion mass spectra of deprotonated, protonated, and sodiated saccharides were observed and were compared within each group of ...

HIGH-RESOLUTION MASS SPECTROMETRY

1971
Mass Spectrometry is unique in the type and amount of information that it can often supply on submicrogram samples. Recent advances include improved understanding of the basic factors affecting ion reaction rates, and application of these in metastable and collision-induced decompositions.

Resolution of the appendiceal mass in Nigerian Igbos

Diseases of the Colon & Rectum, 1977
Appendicitis is reputed to be rare or unknown in African communities, but this is not true of the Igbos of Nigeria, West Africa. This paper reports the histologic features of appendices from eight Igbo patients who underwent interval appendectomy two to six months after conservative treatment for appendiceal masses that resolved satisfactorily ...

High mass resolution SIMS

Applied Surface Science, 2004
Abstract We are developing a method to conduct SIMS analysis at high mass resolution (m/Δm>50,000), to facilitate the examination and study of complex organic and biomolecules on surfaces. The approach uses a primary-ion beam probe (rastered 25 keV Ga+ ion source), providing high (100 nm) spatial resolution, and an ion cyclotron resonance (ICR) cell,

The Manual Resolution of Viscosity and Mass

Dynamic Systems and Control: Volume 2 — Haptic Interfaces for Virtual Environment and Teleoperator Systems; Applications of Intelligent Techniques; Sensors and Identification; Automotive and Agricultural Applications of Fluid Power; Adaptive Control Experiments in Emerging Technologies; Micromechanical Systems; Automatic Control Laboratory Experiments for Graduate Engineering Education, 1995
Abstract Psychophysical experiments measuring human resolution in manually discriminating viscosity and mass were performed while the associated force and displacement variations over time generated by the subjects were simultaneously recorded.

Resolution, accurate mass, and sensitivity

2019
This chapter explains resolving power, resolution, accurate mass, and sensitivity, and shows how these properties can be used for analytical purposes. It highlights the key properties of a mass spectrometer, which include the limit to which an instrument can separate ions of different m/z value and the error limit within which an instrument can measure

The resolution of pituitary mass in neurosarcoidosis.

The Journal of the Arkansas Medical Society, 2012
Sarcoidosis is a multisystem disease that primarily affects the sinuses, lungs, skin, and eyes. In our case, a young female was referred for evaluation of post partum galactorrhea. Initial magnetic resonance imaging revealed a pituitary mass. After steroids for mild adrenal insufficiency and sinus disease, the mass had resolved on imaging.
