Screening for prostate cancer is one of the main current health issues nowadays. As prostate cancer is the most frequently diagnosed cancer affecting over 10% of men in the Western world, early detection by mass screening or by individual approaches has to be considered in order to reduce disease-specific morbidity and mortality.

Brain and Development, 1981From 1971 to 1978, 5,202 schoolchildren from the first to the 9th grade underwent mass screening EEG. Paroxysmal discharges were recognized in 1.7%. Focal paroxysmal discharges appeared most frequently and the temporal, occipital, and central areas were the most common sites.

Mass screening newborns for mucopolysaccharidoses [PDF]
A modification of Berry's test for the screening of mucopolysaccharides in urine, applicable with urine‐impregnated filter paper, is presented. So far, 15,000 newborns have been screened with this method. Of these, 103 gave a positive test result at 20 days of age.
