Mass Transport Inequalities

2016
We present in this chapter some known facts about mass transport and use them to prove properties which will then be extensively used in the sequel.

Photoinduced Mass Transport

2016
This chapter discusses another fascinating function of azo polymers, photoinduced mass transport, in detail. This photoinduced effect is unprecedented in polymers and other materials, which has been intensively studied to understand the mechanism and also for possible applications in many areas such as surface modification and patterning.

Mass Transport Processes

1969
Transport processes are involved when a current is passed through a galvanic cell. Ions and neutral species that participate in the electrochemical reactions at the anode or cathode have to be transported to the respective electrode surfaces. The basic concepts of transport processes are briefly outlined in this chapter.

Convective Mass Transport

1983
This chapter deals with convective mass transport, i.e., a hydrodynamic flow in the electrolyte system. Let us start by a few qualitative remarks. As an example, we consider the electrolysis of a solution of CuSO4 + H2SO4 in a cell with two plane, parallel, copper electrodes. The solution streams parallel to the electrode in laminar flow.

Mass Transport Properties

2018
This chapter reports experimental investigations on transport properties in high performance concrete. The first part looks at the evolution of the different transport properties during the heating of concrete. A second part reports the experimental results on the evolution of permeability of concrete (with and without polypropylene fibres) after ...
