Convection and Mass‐Transport in Laser‐Induced Chemical Vapor Deposition

Journal of The Electrochemical Society, 1988
Gas flow and energy and species transport in laser-induced chemical vapor deposition (LICVD) of amorphous silicon films by silane pyrolysis are analyzed by finite element analysis of a two-dimensional model for the process. Spatial nonuniformity of the deposited film is shown to result from diffusion controlled transport of products between the beam ...

Giant mass-transport deposits in the southern Scotia Sea (Antarctica)

Geological Society, London, Special Publications, 2018
Abstract On the basis of 2D multichannel and very-high-resolution seismic data and swath bathymetry, we report a sequence of giant mass-transport deposits (MTDs) in the Scan Basin (southern Scotia Sea, Antarctica). MTDs with a maximum thickness of c.

Large Mass Transport Deposits in Kumano Basin, Nankai Trough, Japan

2016
Large-scale landsliding is a common process in the Kumano Forearc Basin of the Nankai Trough accretionary prism. We use a 3D seismic data volume to map the seafloor reflection, which shows that there are two surficial landslides, one rotational slump ~3.4 km wide, 1.8 km long and 150 m thick and one disintegrative slide that has left a seafloor scar ~ >

Deposition in a Hazard Assessment Model of Mass Transport Complexes

Offshore Technology Conference, 2004
Abstract A probabilistic model is proposed to describe the probability distributions of MTC hazards. Existing deposits appear to validate the model to the degree possible. The model reproduces deposit structures, and also identifies model inputs that are most likely to produce hazardous MTCs.

The Effect of Mass Transport on Li Deposition and Dissolution

Journal of The Electrochemical Society, 1998
A rotating disk electrode was used to study the effect of mass transport on the electrodeposition and electrodissolution of Li in LiPF 6 -containing electrolytes with different HF contents. The morphology and composition of the deposit on a Ni substrate was investigated with scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy, and X ...

Implications of Two Cretaceous Mass Transport Deposits, Sacramento Valley, California

SEPM Journal of Sedimentary Research, 1965
ABSTRACT A pronounced lithic change coincides with the contact between the "Antelope" Shale (Cenomanian) and the Venado Formation (Turonian). Most previous investigators have either interpreted an unconformity at this position or have implied that this contact is the lateral manifestation of an unconformity. At this contact occur two excellent examples
