Dilepton Yield in Heavy-Ion Collisions with Bose Enhancement of Decay Width [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
The excess of low invariant mass dilepton yield in heavy ion collisions arising from reduction in the rho meson mass at finite temperatures is partially suppressed because of the effect on the width of the rho meson induced by Bose enhancement ...

Clinical Insights Into Hypercalcemia of Malignancy in Childhood

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Hypercalcemia of malignancy (HCM) is a rare but life‐threatening metabolic emergency in children that occurs in less than 1% of pediatric cancer cases, with a reported incidence ranging from 0.4% to 1.0% across different studies. While it is observed in 10%–20% of adult malignancies, pediatric HCM remains relatively uncommon.

Neutrino cosmology - an update

open access: yes, 2003
Present cosmological observations yield an upper bound on the neutrino mass which is significantly stronger than laboratory bounds. However, the exact value of the cosmological bound is model dependent and therefore less robust.

Non-Equipartition of Energy, Masses of Nova Ejecta, and Type Ia Supernovae [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
The total masses ejected during classical nova eruptions are needed to answer two questions with broad astrophysical implications: Can accreting white dwarfs be pushed towards the Chandrasekhar mass limit to yield type Ia supernovae?

Personalized Selumetinib Dosing in Pediatric Neurofibromatosis Type 1: Insights From a Pilot Therapeutic Drug Monitoring Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To evaluate selumetinib exposure using therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) in pediatric patients with neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) and plexiform neurofibromas (PN), assess interpatient pharmacokinetic variability, and explore the relationship between drug exposure, clinical response, and adverse effects.

Maize crop yield in function of salinity and mulch

open access: yesRevista Brasileira de Engenharia Agrícola e Ambiental, 2021
Irrigation with saline water affects the agronomic performance of the maize crop; however, the use of vegetal mulch may mitigate salt stress and promote an increase in yield.

Energetic constraints to chemo-photometric evolution of spiral galaxies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The problem of chemo-photometric evolution of late-type galaxies is dealt with relying on prime physical arguments of energetic self-consistency between chemical enhancement of galaxy mass, through nuclear processing inside stars, and luminosity ...
