Gabpα‐Pparγ Complex Determines Glycolytic Capacity and Lactic Acid Homeostasis in Brown Fat

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies the Gabpα–Pparγ complex as a key transcriptional regulator that couples glycolysis to lactate‐driven thermogenesis in brown adipose tissue by directly activating Eno1 transcription. ‌Competitive disruption of this interaction impairs lactate metabolism and thermogenic capacity.

A Facile Route to Large‐Area 2D Pt

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates a simple route to form continuous 2D platinum (Pt) films only up to 0.3 nm thick using a gallium oxide (GaOx) adhesion layer. The oxygen‐deficient GaOx reverses wetting thermodynamics, enabling scalable sputtering of transparent, conductive, and robust 2D Pt.

An Elastocaloric Polymer with Ultra‐High Solid‐State Cooling via Defect Engineering

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work reports a defect‐engineering strategy that enables a record‐high adiabatic temperature change of up to 8.14 ± 1.76 °C in elastomers at an elevated temperature above 65 °C. Combined experimental and theoretical efforts reveal that increasing dangling‐chain defects nonmonotonically impacts the elastocaloric cooling performance of polymers due ...

Visualizing and Quantifying Impact with Mechanochromic Sensing Paints Based on Self‐Assembled Polydiacetylene‐Silk Core‐Shell Vesicles

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Tracking physical impacts is important in many fields. Self‐assembled microparticles made from polydiacetylene and silk fibroin that change color from blue to red when hit can provide an alternative approach to traditional mechanical transducers, quantitatively visualizing impact with responses ranging from <100 to 770 N.

Microdroplet Stabilization Enabled Direct Mass Spectrometric Identification of Electrogenerated Transient Carbocation Intermediates

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The in situ mass spectrometric identification of the electrogenerated benzylic and phenylic carbocations, whose half‐lives in bulk solutions are on the nanosecond scale, is achieved by taking advantage of the unique stabilization effect of the electrosprayed microdroplets.

Potent and Selective IGF‐IIR‐Recruiting Bifunctional Molecules for Targeted Lysosomal Degradation of Extracellular and Membrane Proteins

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Lysosome‐targeting chimeras (LYTACs) enable degradation of extracellular and membrane proteins via lysosomal trafficking. We report a novel IGF‐II mutant (Del1–7, Y27L) that selectively engages IGF‐IIR while avoiding IGF‐IR and IR‐A. mutIGF‐II–based LYTACs enhance target internalization and degradation and support a genetically encodable, all‐protein ...
