Publisher Summary Mast cells are present wherever there is a connective tissue. They are large mesenchymal cells containing granules and a substance with mucopolysaccharide characters in their cytoplasm. They are—like the fibroblasts and histiocytes—integral individuals of the cell population in normal connective tissue.
