Environmental assessment of sewage contamination in the surroundings of a marine outfall combining human mastadenovirus and fecal indicator bacteria.

Marine Pollution Bulletin, 2023
This study assessed the microbiological contamination of the marine area of a metropolitan region, where a marine outfall is used as a sanitary solution for domestic sewage. For human mastadenovirus (HAdV) quantification 134 water samples were concentrated by skimmed milk flocculation method and analyzed with qPCR and PMAxx-qPCR, being the latter to ...

Human mastadenovirus type 70: a novel, multiple recombinant species D mastadenovirus isolated from diarrhoeal faeces of a haematopoietic stem cell transplantation recipient

open access: closedJournal of General Virology, 2015
A human mastadenovirus D (HAdV-D) isolated from diarrhoeal faeces of an allogeneic haematopoietic stem cell transplant (SCT) recipient was found to be non-typable by sequencing of loops 1 and 2 of the hexon main neutralization epitope ('imputed serology'). In contrast to HAdV-C, HAdV-D infections are rarely observed in SCT patients.

Recombinant type Human mastadenovirus D85 associated with epidemic keratoconjunctivitis since 2015 in Japan

Journal of Medical Virology, 2018
The aim of this study was to report the emergence of a recombinant human mastadenovirus (HAdV) type 85 (HAdV‐85) and to describe its genomic and clinical characteristics. The strains were detected and identified in Japan in cases of adenoviral conjunctivitis including epidemic keratoconjunctivitis (EKC).

Human mastadenovirus in water, sediment, sea surface microlayer, and bivalve mollusk from southern Brazilian beaches.

Marine Pollution Bulletin, 2019
Anthropogenic contamination of beaches in the south of Brazil was assessed by detection of Escherichia coli, human mastadenovirus species C (HAdV-C) and F (HAdV-F) and hepatitis E virus (HEV). Sampling was carried out in October (2016), and in January, April and July (2017).

Inoculation of lambs with ovine adenovirus 5 (Mastadenovirus ovi 5) strain RTS-42.

open access: closedAmerican Journal of Veterinary Research, 1986
SUMMARY Twelve 1-week-old colostrum-deprived lambs inoculated with the RTS-42 strain of Mastadenovirus ovi 5 were killed and necropsied (2 lambs/day) on postinoculation days (pid) 2, 4, 6, 8, 12, and 21. Four noninoculated lambs were killed and necropsied (2/day) on pid 6 and 12.

Characteristics of mastadenovirus h8, the causative agent of epidemic keratoconjunctivitis

Archives of Virology, 1983
Adenovirus 8 (Ad 8, strain 1127) has the general structural features of an adenovirus; it produces the genus-specific hexon antigen. The fiber length of 12 nm corresponds to that of other subgenus D adenoviruses. In hemagglutination-inhibition, Ad 8 is related to Ad9 and Ad 15/H9.

Novel mastadenovirus infection and clinical disease in a pygmy marmoset (Callithrix [Cebuella] pygmaea)

Veterinary Microbiology, 2013
We describe the detection and successful isolation of a novel mastadenovirus from a pygmy marmoset (Callithrix [Cebuella] pygmaea) that died following an episode of severe respiratory signs. Pathologic/histopathologic examination revealed hydrothorax and catarrhal bronchopneumonia with pronounced desquamation of the bronchiolar epithelial cells, while ...

PHYLOGENETIC ANALYSIS OF THE GENOME OF AN ENTERITIS-ASSOCIATED BOTTLENOSE DOLPHIN MASTADENOVIRUS SUPPORTS A CLADE INFECTING THE CETARTIODACTYLA

Journal of Wildlife Diseases, 2018
:  Adenoviruses are nonenveloped, double-stranded DNA viruses, known to infect members of all tetrapod classes, with a similarity between phylogenies of hosts and viruses observed. We characterized bottlenose dolphin adenovirus 2 (BdAdV-2) found in a bottlenose dolphin ( Tursiops truncatus) with enteritis.
